Everyone gets guaranteed 4 games.\u00a0 The top two teams from all groups make the quarter-finals. The 3rd<\/sup> and 4th<\/sup> place will play a for fun cross match in the battle of the groups.<\/p>\n

SEEDING FORMULA<\/p>\n

  1. 2 points for a win 1 point for tie in group stages. If two teams are tied:<\/li>\n
  2. Head to Head between tied teams<\/li>\n
  3. Points Against<\/li>\n
  4. Points for<\/li>\n
  5. Least disciplinary issues<\/li>\n
  6. Coin Flip<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Registration:<\/strong>\u00a0When registering please include the name and email address of your coach and the athletic director.<\/p>\n

    Registration will close Tuesday<\/strong>, October 6th<\/p>\n

    Location<\/strong>: The Hangar (indoors)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>75 Carl Hall Rd, North York, ON M3K 2B9<\/p>\n

    First games will start at 9am and we aim to be finished by 3pm<\/p>\n

    Equipment:\u00a0<\/strong>Footballs, flags, jerseys (numbered) & pinnies in the event of jersey conflict. ****shorts or pants should NOT have pockets****<\/p>\n

    Some notes about the tournament and SSAF flag football.<\/p>\n

    At the U12 level we have found it more appropriate to use pee-wee or junior size balls. I’ll have some spare.<\/p>\n

    The flags have been causes of controversy in the past.\u00a0 They should be velcro and hang by the sides over tucked-in jerseys.\u00a0 I have found the belts that come off altogether don\u2019t work very well and teams have had to change them mid-game.\u00a0 Ensure that flags are not old and curled up. I will have some spare.<\/p>\n

    This was made in conjunction with Danny Bobb our officials\u2019 team leader.<\/p>\n

    We have played since 2018 by setting all the defensive players 10 yrds back (not just the rusher).\u00a0 In the interest of consistency, we will continue to do this and can address any issues and permanent rule changes as a motion at the next SSAF meeting.<\/p>\n

    A common mistake players make is that when running the football, teammates run ahead, which may block the defence.\u00a0 Ensure offensive players that don\u2019t have the ball are trained to stand still when you are running the ball.<\/p>\n
